Product Details
1. True Cardiac Vision
Cardiac imaging is one of the most demanding CT applications because continuous heart motion can introduce image artifacts.
The uCT 960+ combines a 16 cm detector, fast 0.25-second rotation and dedicated AI-powered cardiac technologies to support cardiac examinations in challenging conditions, including patients with high heart rates, arrhythmia and free-breathing examinations.
The system's cardiac imaging platform includes:
· CardioBoost
· CardioAssist
· CardioAdapt
· CardioXphase
· CardioCapture
These technologies work across patient positioning, cardiac gating, motion correction and image reconstruction.
2. CardioBoost AI Cardiac Reconstruction
CardioBoost is an AI-powered reconstruction technology specifically designed for cardiac imaging.
The technology uses a specialized 3D convolutional neural network trained with cardiac anatomical data. It is designed to improve visualization of coronary vessels, plaques, stents and cardiac structures while reducing image noise and artifacts.
According to United Imaging's phantom-test data, CardioBoost can provide:
· Up to 99% LCD improvement at the same dose level
· Up to 70% dose reduction at the same LCD level
· Up to 72% spatial resolution improvement at the same radiation dose
These figures are based on phantom testing comparing CardioBoost with FBP and are identified by United Imaging as data on file.
3. One-Stop Combined CCTA Imaging
The uCT 960+ supports combined acquisition of ECG-gated and non-ECG-gated imaging, with switching time down to approximately 2 seconds.
This enables coronary imaging together with cerebrovascular or peripheral vascular CTA using a single contrast injection, providing an integrated approach for panvascular assessment.
4. AIIR – AI Iterative Reconstruction
The AIIR technology combines model-based iterative reconstruction (MBIR) with deep learning.
It models factors including:
· Imaging optics
· Noise
· Anatomy
· Physical statistics
· Raw-data and image-domain information
Deep learning-based denoising is integrated into the iterative reconstruction process to improve image quality while maintaining a familiar image texture.
According to United Imaging's phantom-test data, AIIR can achieve:
· Up to 267% improvement in low-contrast detectability
· Up to 150% improvement in spatial resolution
· Up to 90% dose reduction
· Up to 98% image-noise reduction
These figures are based on phantom tests comparing AIIR images with FBP.
5. AI-Powered Patient Positioning
The uCT 960+ uses uAI Vision, which incorporates a 3D camera to support automated patient positioning.
The system provides:
EasyPositioning
Single-click patient positioning and scan-range planning based on the selected examination protocol.
EasyISO
Automatically adjusts the table height to help achieve accurate isocenter positioning and optimized surface radiation dose distribution.
This approach can improve positioning consistency while reducing manual operation requirements.
6. Organ-Based Auto ALARA mA
The Organ-Based Auto ALARA mA technology uses AI to identify chest and abdominal regions and apply dedicated dose modulation.
Instead of using one set of modulation parameters across the entire combined chest-abdomen region, the system dynamically adjusts dose according to the anatomical region.
United Imaging reports that phantom testing showed approximately 20% radiation dose reduction while maintaining equivalent image noise compared with individual chest and abdomen protocols.
7. AI-Based Automatic Scan and Reconstruction Range
EasyRange uses deep learning to automatically determine scan and reconstruction ranges.
For scanning, the system can monitor patient movement in real time and determine the starting position and scan range.
Following the scout scan, the reconstruction function can automatically identify the target anatomical region and determine the appropriate reconstruction range.
The technology supports routine and specialized examinations involving the:
· Head
· Neck
· Chest
· Abdomen
· Spine
· Extremities
· Heart
· Combined protocols
8. Expanded Stroke Imaging
The 16 cm detector coverage enables the system to cover the entire brain in a single rotation without table movement.
The uCT 960+ supports:
· 16 cm whole-brain coverage
· One-stop 4D CTA + CTP
· AI-based motion correction
· Intelligent stroke evaluation
The stroke evaluation software can automatically calculate important perfusion parameters, including:
· Cerebral Blood Volume (CBV)
· Cerebral Blood Flow (CBF)
· Time to Peak (TTP)
· Mean Transit Time (MTT)
· Tmax
· Mismatch Ratio
These functions can assist clinicians in evaluating patients with suspected acute stroke.
9. Motion Freeze
The system incorporates an AI-based head motion correction algorithm called Motion Freeze.
It is designed to suppress the effects of patient head movement and improve visualization in cerebral CT examinations.
United Imaging states that this technology was the first of its kind to receive FDA 510(k) clearance and CE marking.
10. Emergency and Trauma Imaging
The uCT 960+ is designed for high-speed emergency imaging.
Its emergency imaging capabilities include:
Single-Rotation Brain Imaging
An entire brain scan can be completed in approximately 0.5 seconds, helping reduce motion artifacts.
Fast Scanning
The system provides scanning speeds of up to 440 mm/s, supporting rapid examinations for trauma and other emergency patients.
Real-Time 3D
MPR and VR preview images can be generated in real time during acquisition.
Intelligent Rib Fracture Analysis
AI-based analysis supports automated identification and evaluation of rib fractures.
11. Bariatric Imaging
The uCT 960+ is designed to accommodate larger patients through its combination of an 82 cm ultra-wide bore and 318 kg table load capacity.
The system also provides Ultra EFOV, an AI-powered technology designed to extend imaging across the available bore and suppress truncation artifacts.
AIIR can additionally be used for bariatric imaging to improve image quality and low-contrast detectability while controlling image noise.
12. Pediatric Imaging
The 16 cm detector coverage allows up to 16 cm of anatomy to be scanned in a single rotation.
For pediatric examinations, the uCT 960+ provides:
· 16 cm single-rotation imaging
· Dedicated pediatric protocols
· Age- and weight-based protocols
· 60 kVp scanning mode
These features are intended to improve scanning efficiency and help minimize radiation exposure for pediatric patients.
13. Oncology Imaging
The uCT 960+ provides several technologies designed for oncology imaging.
Dual-Energy CT
The system supports acquisition at 80 kVp and 140 kVp for spectral imaging and material analysis.
16 cm Stationary Perfusion
Whole-organ perfusion imaging can be performed without table movement.
Dynamic Perfusion
Dynamic perfusion imaging is available with a helical mode and table movement, supporting functional assessment over distances of up to 40 cm.
